Domenico Madaio arrived in the United States in 1896 at the age of 28. He arrived from Ottati in the province of Salerno in the region of Campania. He shipped out from Naples, docked on to the port of Marseilles Boudes du Rhone, France and then traveled on to the United States and Liberty Island.The ship was named The Alesia. He resided in Lilly, PA.

Costantino, Anna, age 37, arriving at Ellis Island on February 19. 1903 along with her son Arcangelo age 12 and her daughter Ma.(Maria) Rosa age 8.  She is listed as married to Domenico and traveling to Lilly, PA.   

Domenico's obituary:

Madaio - Dominic, 86, 416 Cleveland street, Lilly (PA), died at 6pm, July 20, 1955, in Mercy hospital, Altoona. Born November 5th, 1868 in Italy. Survived by children: Mrs. Aniello Mattiello, Lilly, and John, Long Island, N.Y: 27 grandchildren, 40 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren. Friends received after 4pm Thursday in Tickerhoof Funeral Home, Serrvice at 9am., Saturday in St. Brigid's Catholic church, LT. L.C. Mattiello, Chaplain, USN, grandson of deceased. Interment, St. Brigid's cemetary.

Domenico married Anna Maria Costantino and had four kids:

John A., born 8/12/04 and died 6/24/78 who married Mary Figerod (no kids)

Marie, born 1894 and died 1984,who married Aniello Mattiello and had: Lucille J. George, Dorothy, Marie Tremel, Christine Eckenrode, Rose Marie Sanders, Dora who became Sister Mary Louise, Marion Destafano, Elizabeth, Anthony (Lisa and Laura's Grandpa), Dominick, Lucian (Father Louis), John and Carmen.

Philomina, born 5-5-07 and died 3/30/45, who married Stephen Valentine Martynuska and had Arturro, Frederick, John, Valentine, Francis, and Anna Marie.

Arcangelo (Michael) Madaio, born 3/25/1891 and died 8/10/42, who married Immaculata Cocca and had:
Ida, Francis, Mario,Dominick, Michael, John (Jake), Matilda, Theresa, Ann Marie, Alfred and Gerry.
